Lauren L. Buisker, M.A.

Ph. D. Candidate, Graduate Teaching Assistant
Colorado State University
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

I am a Ph. D. Candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Colorado State University, having earned my undergraduate degrees in Communication Studies and Political Science from South Dakota State University in 2019 and my master's degree in Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021. My research uses critical feminist perspectives to understand rhetoric about sexual violence, particularly as it relates to organizational life, and my dissertation is titled: "Organizing Beyond Individual and Systemic Binaries: The Rhetoric of Anti-Sexual Violence Activism." I have methodological training with rhetorical criticism, interviewing, and focus groups.

As a daughter of two high school teachers, I am a passionate educator, having taught classes on argumentation, debate, deliberation, interpersonal communication, introductory writing, gender and communication, political communication, popular culture, public speaking, rhetorical criticism, and workplace communication. I also currently serve as the Assistant Course Director for Public Speaking at CSU, a role in which I co-teach a graduate level class on communication pedagogy.
